ArtSplash 2010
This year ArtSplash in Carlsbad, Sept 25 & 26, challenged us with making lightsculptures using recycled bases...
William made a gorgeous standing lamp with white Momi paper on thick reed, sold at the silent auction; we found a discarded torch during one of our walks in the neighboorhood...

Here is my Sunrise table lamp, sold at the silent auction to benefit ArtSplash school programs: orange mulberry paper on a thin reed frame, mounted on a copper base - from Goodwill, one of our favorite source!

ArtReach

ArtReach opened the fall 2009 season of elementary school workshops at Washington Elementary School. Under the guidance of ArtReach artists Alessandra Colfi and Shelby Homer, students in kindergarten through fourth grade tried their hand at "chalk painting" images of Italy and Little Italy in celebration of the upcoming Festa event in their neighborhood. Third and fourth grades discovered the art of Michelangelo and practiced chalk renderings of hands. The results of both projects were amazing!
